Society trial competitions test the ability and merit of as many essential natural traits as possible, which will emphasise the value and importance of ‘all-round utility stock dogs’. Natural ability will be highlighted as the prime requirement for dogs assessed in Society trials, and the need for sound training and handling will also be stimulated.
Various Utility Trial courses – (for sheep), will be conducted to test the ability and merit of (a) long searching casts and mustering, (b) paddock and obstacle work and (c) yard work.
Cattle Handling Tests – (for cattle), will be conducted to test the ability and merit of (d) cattle handling
